Flash Video is a video format used mainly for delivering videos on the Internet. It is usually embedded in a webpage and is supported by the Adobe Flash Player and web-browser plugin.  Some tools can extract Flash video from webpages and save the video contents into FLV files so that the user can wacth them offline.

How to watch the flv files locally on your computer?

One of the easiest way to play FLV file is to install FFDShow on your computer. FFDShow enables you to watch FLV files using your current player such as Windows Media Player or Media Player Classic.

After you downloaded the installer, you need to run the installer. During the installation, you should make sure that the FLV1 and VP5/VP6 are selected.
