DVI-A is the analog subset of Digital Video Interface (DVI) standard. DVI-A is designed mainly for backward compatibility with analogue interfaces such as VGA. The signals ouput from DVI-A interface can be easily converted to VGA signals using DVI to VGA adapters. See also DVI-I
