HDMI
HDMI, High-Definition Multimedia Interface, is used to transmit digital video and audio signals between digital devices. HDMI transmits digital video or audio signals at speeds up to 5 Gps. It supports high definition images up to 1080p and multi-channel audio formats such as DVD-Audio.
Since HDMI connection digitally transmits video and audio signals with virtually no degradation or noise, there is no quality loss and the video/audio quality is higher than analog connection.
Video signals from DVI digital ouput (DVI-I or DVI-D) can be easily converted to HDMI singals (without audio) using DVI-HDMI adapters.
