SMPTE - Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, is an organization for motion picture and television engineers. Founded in 1916, SMPTE has now over 250 Sustaining members spread throughout 61 countries worldwide. SMPTE standards cover topics ranging from audio and video reproduction to analog and digital transmission of audio-visual material.
